About Me
Call me, LJ.
I’m creative, competitive, collaborative, and a lifetime learner.
I now reside in Burbank, California, but I was born and raised right outside of Louisville, Kentucky. As a kid, I was always enraptured by the art of storytelling in all its forms. I was also a particularly involved and active kid, playing many different sports and partaking in multiple clubs. It was hard for my parents to reign in my hunger for learning just about anything, but eventually, my stand-out passions became clear: storytelling, soccer, writing, and consuming all types of creative fictional media from games to books to TV and film.
With an academic honors scholarship, an athletic soccer scholarship, and a work-study program, I was able to afford to attend college in Brooklyn, New York at Long Island University. There, I was involved in the National Society of Leaders and Success and was inducted into Honors Societies such as Sigma Tau Delta, Phi Kappa Phi, and Alpha Chi. During all four years, I was also a Division 1 athlete in the Women’s Soccer Program while maintaining a 3.9 GPA, and spent my off-season doing internships. Most notably, a production company in Louisville, John Flower Productions, and a trailer house in Manhattan, Wheelhouse Creative where I learned the general of almost all entry-level positions in the industry. Ultimately, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Honors College with a Bachelors's Degree in both Media Arts and English.
Currently, I work at Paramount as a full-time employee Video Editor for the Paramount Plus Production Operations team in LA. There I’ve played more roles than just a traditional editor. I’ve taken on other titles as a researcher, writer, PA, and production coordinator as well whenever needed. I’ve worked with this team in my role for the last two years, and couldn’t be happier with my success. Not only have I worn many hats to assist beyond editing, but I’ve also brought many successful projects to completion around the content Paramount + provides.
With a background in Mac and PC software, I have a strong understanding of Final Cut Pro, Adobe Creative Suite, and Final Draft. I am currently learning Avid. As well as video editing and film production, writing has been a lifelong passion of mine. I thoroughly enjoy both character and story development. I spend my free time writing screenplays, novels, short stories, poetry, and fan fiction. When I’m not geeking out to a new fandom or working, I love bouldering, tennis, and still playing soccer.
